This is a companion piece to 'Leaving 1915' and shows the soldier returning to his family, 4 years later. He's injured and supported by one of his pals, also returning to the same dismal street. However, the mood is brighter, with light reflected on the buildings. A woman watches from her doorstep? Has she had bad news? A younger lass pushes her new baby in a pram? One has to presume her young man returned safely.. Everyone has a story to tell. That is the legacy of WW1.
