This measures 3'x4' and depicts the story of Wilfred Owen, the WW1 poet. He spent some time at Ripon Camp and the picture incorporates scenes of war, but is closely linked to the 'Fields of Mud, Seeds of Hope' project in Ripon Cathedral 3rd Oct - 14th Nov 2018. Mud from the Passchendaele Memorial museum has been mixed with the paint. One of Wilfred Owen's poems 'The Send Off' was written whilst he was at Ripon and the first two lines are shown in the top left corner. There is a discarded copy of the Yorkshire Post showing casualty lists, and another paper lying bottom right that announces the war is over 'Germany Surrenders, Armistice Signed'.
